What Qiraya stores

You can read and listen without an account. If you create one, we store your email address, display name, a hashed password, your reading goal, your bookmarks and last verse, the results of your recitations (the score and the words to review, never the audio), and any feedback you send.

Your voice while you recite

When you start a recitation, the app streams your microphone audio securely through the Qiraya server to OpenAI, which transcribes it in real time so Qiraya can mark each word. The microphone is only on while you recite. Qiraya never records or stores the audio; it keeps only the score and the words to review, and records how many seconds you recited. OpenAI processes the audio under its API data policies and does not use it to train its models.

Services we rely on

Quran text and translations load from alquran.cloud, recitation audio streams from everyayah.com, and live recitation is transcribed by OpenAI. These services receive your IP address when your device requests them; OpenAI receives the recitation audio sent through our server, not your IP address or account details. Subscriptions, when offered, are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat; we never receive your payment details.

Stripe processes web subscription payments and payment-method details. We send Stripe your account email and an internal account identifier to link the purchase to your account. We keep billing customer and subscription identifiers, plan and payment status; full card details are handled by Stripe. Billing records may be retained to meet accounting and legal obligations after account deletion.

Crash and error diagnostics

We use Sentry to find and fix crashes, errors and performance problems. Reports can include app and browser versions, device and operating-system information, stack traces and technical request details. We exclude request bodies, cookies and request headers, and do not attach recitation audio or feedback text to these reports.

Marketing measurement

AppsFlyer measures installs, registration, onboarding, paywall visits and checkout, and receives confirmed subscription events from RevenueCat. It processes app and device identifiers, campaign information, technical network information and purchase values. Advertising partners may receive these limited events to measure our campaigns. We never include recitation audio, Quran reading history, religious activity, personal goals or account contact details in these events. On iOS, the advertising identifier requires your permission in the system tracking request; aggregate attribution remains available if you decline. Android advertising-ID collection is disabled. Deleting your data

Delete your account at any time from Settings on the web or Profile in the app. This removes your account, bookmarks, practice history and feedback.
