Surah Al-Adiyat
The Courser · Meccan · 11 verses
Al-Adiyat (“The Courser”) is the 100th surah of the Quran, a Meccan surah of 11 verses in juz 30, pages 599–600 of the Madani mushaf. Read it below in the Uthmani script with the Saheeh International translation, and play any verse recited by Mishary Rashid Alafasy.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
- 100:1
وَٱلْعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبْحًۭا ﴿١﴾
By the racers, panting,
- 100:2
فَٱلْمُورِيَٰتِ قَدْحًۭا ﴿٢﴾
And the producers of sparks [when] striking
- 100:3
فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًۭا ﴿٣﴾
And the chargers at dawn,
- 100:4
فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًۭا ﴿٤﴾
Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust,
- 100:5
فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا ﴿٥﴾
Arriving thereby in the center collectively,
- 100:6
إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌۭ ﴿٦﴾
Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful.
- 100:7
وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌۭ ﴿٧﴾
And indeed, he is to that a witness.
- 100:8
وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ ﴿٨﴾
And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense.
- 100:9
۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ ﴿٩﴾
But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered
- 100:10
وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ ﴿١٠﴾
And that within the breasts is obtained,
- 100:11
إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ ﴿١١﴾
Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted.
