Surah At-Takathur
The Rivalry in World Increase · Meccan · 8 verses
At-Takathur (“The Rivalry in World Increase”) is the 102nd surah of the Quran, a Meccan surah of 8 verses in juz 30, page 600 of the Madani mushaf. Read it below in the Uthmani script with the Saheeh International translation, and play any verse recited by Mishary Rashid Alafasy.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
- 102:1
أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ﴿١﴾
Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you
- 102:2
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ ﴿٢﴾
Until you visit the graveyards.
- 102:3
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٣﴾
No! You are going to know.
- 102:4
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٤﴾
Then no! You are going to know.
- 102:5
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ ﴿٥﴾
No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...
- 102:6
لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ ﴿٦﴾
You will surely see the Hellfire.
- 102:7
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ ﴿٧﴾
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
- 102:8
ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴿٨﴾
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.
